Award-winning gospel singer Efua Black has identified her musical talent as her point of contact with the prospective audience of her ministry.
The inspirational singer had an engaging conversation with Silva Lady on "Aben Wo Ha" on DL FM. The interview, conducted on Thursday, May 30, 2024, is part of her music promotion in Accra.
Currently in Accra for brand introduction to a wider market base, Efua Black views her music career as the vehicle that could attract more attention to her growing ministry. If she gains prominence in the Ghanaian gospel music industry, it will also elevate the other aspects of her ministry, enabling her to make significant impacts and fulfill God's plans for her life and the dreams of her team.
"The ministry is a calling, and I have no other option than to answer. Music is a fraction of the ministry. Music sells and will make things easy for the other parts of the ministry. We're looking at extending our reach to other parts of the country with all our projects," the Takoradi-based singer added.
The transition of the "Twe Ben No" singer from a choirister to a professional gospel act is a miraculous step for which she is always grateful. This journey, which commenced with a prophecy in 2014, has been brought to fulfillment by God. A few years after the prophetic message, she began receiving songs through revelations during the lockdown period caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Her recording sessions were quickly scheduled immediately after the lockdown restrictions were eased, and the rest is the work of the Lord.
Within four years, she has made a significant impact in the music ministry in the Western region of the country and is now focused on widening her scope. She currently has nine songs to her credit, including an extended playlist. The "Only God EP" features three amazing songs that showcase the God-given talent of this remarkable singer.
The singer also revealed that "Oye Jesus," one of her flagship songs, was initially composed as a worship song. She was encouraged by legendary gospel singer Amy Newman to adapt it into a Highlife rendition, which she did, resulting in a greatly transformed product. The duo also collaborated on Efua's "Ma Metse Biara," a beautiful inspirational song that highlights the synergy between the two talented singers.
Having become a household name in the Western Region of Ghana, the inspirational singer feels it is time to elevate her career. Currently on a media tour in Accra for the first time, she is a force to be reckoned with. Her songs, without a doubt, can be rated for their excellent writing, arrangement, and production. She also acknowledged the pivotal role her beloved husband has played in putting these great pieces together.
Some notable aspects of Efua Black's ministry include periodic philanthropic activities. She often visits orphanages to celebrate her birthdays with the children. The singer, along with her team, paid a visit to the prison right after her annual Holy Ghost Concert to fraternize with the inmates, encourage them to be hopeful, and trust in the Lord. These projects have always taken place in Takoradi, and she hopes to extend her blessings to other parts of the country.
Music enthusiasts can enjoy the "Only God EP" as well as other beautiful songs from Efua Black on all streaming sites.
