Empire Foundation donates Mitsubishi Pajero to Tema orphanage

The Chief Executive Officer of Starr 103.5 FM Kwabena Anokye Adisi more commonly known as Bola Ray, has donated a Mitsubishi Pajero to the SOS Children’s village in Tema.

The Children’s Village, which provides a community for a perfect family strengthening system, was opened in 1974 and has since raised many astute and talented children.

In the village, 15 SOS families provide a “loving home to children who are no longer able to live with their parents for a myriad of reasons,” according to operators of the home.

Given the limited budget with which the managers of the community have to operate the home, Bola Ray and his Empire Foundation have made it a duty to help supplant provision of the needs of the children, hence Sunday’s donation exercise.

Apart from the Pajero, other items that were donated include bags of rice, washing powder, packs of Indomie, exercise books, toiletries, drinking water, packs of soft drink and an undisclosed amount of money.

Donating the items, Bola Ray who said his wife, Dorcas Anokye Adisi was the brain behind the vehicle donation, urged the manager of the village to ensure it serves its purpose – transporting children to the hospital during emergencies.

He also called on the children to let love reign among them. “Let’s love one another, love is the most important thing. It doesn’t matter how much you have, it doesn’t matter where you are coming from. So as you also grow up, just remember: ‘sharing is caring’. Whatever you have, there is always somebody that you have to reach out to”.

Akosua Sosu, who spoke on behalf of the children thanked Bola Ray and his team for the kind gesture.

“We take this opportunity to wish you all a blissful and a happy New Year and especially to you Bola Ray. May God grant you good health, more wisdom, innovation, creativity and a unique style.”

Also there to support Bola Ray and the Empire Foundation were hiplife artistes Manifest, Nero X, Nana Qwame and Edem, who performed some of their hit songs to the delight of the children.

Other personalities who also assisted in this year’s donation were Afia Schwarzenegger, Peace Hyde, and staff of Starr 103.5FM.
