Award winning Gospel artiste, OJ, known in private life as Michael Oware Sakyi seems unhappy over George Quaye’s recent bribery allegation.
It was reported that management of the renown gospel musician, CEBEX Production, has opted out of this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards event due to bribery claims by the spokesperson for the organizers claiming that, the most bribe offers that come to him in exchange for the awards come from the gospel fraternity.
OJ in an interview on Radio Universe said that his management has taken back the forms they submitted for him to be part of this year’s awards. According to him, he filed for about five nominations before George Quaye’s “careless” statement but he is not interested in the awards anymore until they name the gospel musicians who offered bribe.
He also posted on his Facebook Timeline; “Enough of the humiliation. Gospel musicians deserve better. It is not about what men can offer; its about what we give to our God. Our God is enough!!!!!”
Some Gospel singers have expressed their sentiments over the ill comment made by the Head of communication for Charterhouse, and other past winners have also threatened to return the plagues to the organisers because they believe their reputation have been tarnished.
