Erico, Faya, Dela to collaborate

For the  first time in the history of TV3 Mentor reality show, three Mentor stars from the same region are teaming up to produce an album.

The three, Erico, (winner of the show), Faya (second runner-up) and Dela (evictee) represented the Greater Accra Region at the just-ended show.

“The collaboration will be in solidarity with their fans and voters, especially those in the Greater Accra Region,” said Faya’s Manager, Boye Coober, in an interview with Beatwaves in Accra last Friday.

He said this would be the young talents’ recognition of the public’s contribution to their success story.

The manager threw more light on Faya’s future prospects in the music industry. According to him, Faya would not be rushed into coming out with a solo album now.

Rather, he would be enrolled in a music school to further groom him well so that when he finally steps into the industry, he would leave a great mark for others to emulate.

Currently, he said there is an agreement underway with a water company to print Faya’s effigy on its sachets to market him nationwide.

Speaking about his experience in Mentor III, Faya said from the time he entered the show, he had a strong belief he would be the next “Mentor Prince”.

“I have all the confidence of a winner, though at the finals I could not win. I have no problem with the results,” he indicated.

The 22-year-old talented musician said nothing was more challenging in Mentor III than the Reggae night, which was the night he felt he would be one of the evictees, but fortunately he survived.

About the judges in Mentor, Faya was of the view that they were more of teachers to him, because anytime he came on stage they taught him what to do and what not to do.

While congratulating the judges, he extended his greatest appreciation to TV3, TIGO and other sponsors, as well as those who voted for him to stay in the house till the final day of the competition.

Before entering Mentor, Faya had done a number of demos and also performed at a few social gatherings.

“Those who would be seeing Faya in town wearing big earrings, necklaces and hand bangles should not be amazed, it is all for showbiz,” he stated, adding “the real Faya is a gentleman.”
