Exclusive: Jay Q reveals it all

It’s been some months since Jay Q went on a national tour to the states (I call it a tour because he using his travel to work with musicians in more than one state in the USA), but his long stay in the states will likely make the wait seem worthwhile as he has gotten to meet Ghanaian musicians and his fans.

“It is sad that Ghanaian musicians abroad can’t come down to Ghana, so I have decided to take time off my work in Ghana to travel to America and Europe to record them. The idea that Ghanaian musicians living outside can’t make a hit will soon be a thing of the past”, he said.

Jay Q also took the opportunity Ghana Music.com guaranteed to him to clear the air about rumours being peddled about him. “Am not running away from music, no not at all. I have spoken to Nana Acheampong, Obrafour’s manager and a few good artistes and they want me back”.

“Please tell everyone that am not gone”, Jay Q denounced the rumours that he was relocating to the states.

Jay also revealed to Ghana Music.com that he has not released the hiplife jazz album originally dubbed “Memories With Jay Q” but wants to beef it up with the gospel and highlife genre which will soon be out.

Jay Q is always going places and has been bestowed a honoree member of Ghana Musicians association based in Chicago, USA.

The Ga sound engineer and producer is always up to ‘big time’ surprises and I wonder what he will be breaking when he returns from his recording expedition.

All I could say about Jay Q, CEO of Q Lex Entertainment is that he has worked Kwame Nash, Attah Ghana Boy,(All of HYDRO Band in Chicago), Dan Boadi (President of Ghana Musicians Association in Chicago), Dennis (a Nigerian), Wisdom(a Nigerian), Dickie Dee (Maryland), Kobby (Virginia), Tofia (New York), Tony Montana (New York), Gloria Yankah (New York), Dee Jones (New York), Eric Agyeman of “Wonko Menko Anaa fame” (new York), Ben (soldier in the British Army in Chicago), Gilbert Otoo and Faustie (Minnesota), Zanita and Ginger (Black Americans from New Jersey), Smart Frimpong (Chicago), Nyankonton (Atlanta), Laso (New York), Magic Rocker (Chicago), Ronney Coaches of Buk Bak (New York), Eben (Minnesota) and Boat (Minnesota).
