Exposing your brassiere: A faux pas?

I was extremely excited when Linda Ampah, a judge on the popular beauty pageant show on TV3, “Ghana’s Most Beautiful” during one of their sessions made it clear on how distasteful it is for a woman to show her under wear in public, especially the brassiere.

I lauded her for her good sense of judgment and defying the odds to strongly use the platform to assert her stance on the canker, which is gradually crippling into our social fibre.

Madam Ampah’s intervention was really on point. Women as they go about their daily lives must, at all times, strive to keep their dignity, and put up attitudes that will influence our society in a positive manner.

Interestingly, some women of today believe that exposing their brassieres or under-wears is the most fashionable way to appeal to their peers or men.

It is disgusting and indeed embarrassing to see respected and older women join in the craze. Is it a way of wetting the appetite of their partners or to attract new 'offers'? Your guess is good as mine.

Brassieres and panties are not called under wears for nothing hence the need to keep it away from the prying eyes of the masses.

It is imperative for women to understand that exposing their underwear will not automatically earn them husbands or be respected among their peers. Our attitude and lifestyle command respect and no money can afford that.
