FACES: 20 qualify for Miss Ghana 2013 pageant

Twenty young, bold, beautiful, eloquent and purpose-driven Ghanaian ladies have been selected as finalists for this year’s Miss Ghana pageant.


All twenty, made it to the finals after going through a successful makeover and photo shoot session held in Accra last weekend.


The session, wholly managed by the FC Skin and Beauty Klinik and Professional Photographer Steven Adusei, saw the ladies uniquely transformed, making the decision a tough one for the team of judges, which included Exclusive Events Ghana CEO Inna Maryam Patty, and Shika Obeng, a director at FC.


Thirty contestants, who had qualified out of a pool that auditioned during the 3-day national auditions in Accra, took part in the day’s makeover and photo shoot session, held at the Krokrobite Beach facility in the Greater Accra Region.


The number was later whittled down to twenty, who have thus qualified as finalists of the 2013 edition.


The finalists include Jasmine Seyram Akortsu (22) of the Central University College, Destiny Agnes Acquah, a 21 year-old level 300 Political Science student of the University of Ghana, Nadia Oforiwaa Gyimah (19), of the KNUST, Angela Awity (19), a level 100 Water Resources Management student, also from KNUST, Margaret Kuma Mintah (22) of the University of Ghana, Chantell Anombase, a receptionist, Emelda Adukwei Mills Pappoe (23), a graduate of the KNUST, Golda Aba Dayi (21), a graduate of the radio broadcasting academy RABODEF, Angela Anyele (21), a level 300 Linguistics and Information Studies student of the University of Ghana and Sylvia Adu Tieku (20), a second year student of KNUST.


Others include Michelle Addo (21) of The Interior Design Institute, Zuleiya Tanko, a 19 year-old Senior High School graduate, Maame Serwaah Arkorful Awotwe, an Access to Nursing student of the Brixton College – London, Maureen Micah (22) of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Baafi Guiseppine (22), a second year student of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Crystal Selorm Amudzi (20), of the University of Ghana, Matilda Kiki Sefakor (21), a final year student of the University of Cape Coast, Safoa Eisenhower (21), a fashion and design student of Accra Polytechnic, Belinda Asiamah (20), University of Ghana, and Selasie Nanietta Agbitor (21) from the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI).


Among other things, the finalists will take part in grooming and mentoring sessions, coaching, skills training and development as well as engage in special, themed Miss Ghana 2013 events, which include the Street Fashion Show, Kids Bazaar, Beauty with a Purpose tasks and Talent Competition.


The national finals will be held in July, the organizers have said.
