A few weeks ago, Davido confessed he deserves no award this year and we agree. Despite many collaborations in 2016, the Sony Music star only dropped his first single of the year in September.
Olamide on his part has put out good content, but none can be compared with ‘Bobo’ that got American music star, Ciara dancing on the streets of Lagos.
Meanwhile, Tiwa Savage’s marriage crisis and Yemi Alade’s reign have been major threats the Mavin singer has had to contend with this year.
Tekno, Kiss Daniel and Adekunle Gold have done so well, but it’s seems they’ll need to wait till 2017 for their ‘reward’.
So when we argue the best of 2016, two names stand out.
Wizkid and Falz have broken boundaries and set standards in their own ways.
While Wizkid concentrated on building and cementing his international brand, Falz held it down locally and so far, they’ve done remarkably well.
Let’s look at their achievements this year.

Wizkid has featured in a number of the biggest songs in Nigeria, and the world, evident from the list below.

Other Attractions
Falz has signed several endorsement deals so far this year, from sport betting agencies to telcos and more.
Also, he’s having a working relationship with singer Simi, while keeping up with his Instagram followers that helped make him popular at first.
On Wizkid’s part, he unveiled three new acts under his Starboy Entertainment Worldwide in May; Efya, R2Bess and Mr. Eazi.
The Starboy has also kept it cool with singer Justin Skye (probably one of the collaborations coming soon), whilst touring the world alongside music superstar, Chris Brown; with whom he recently rocked Kenya.
The two artistes have evidently done great work throughout 2016, but if you had to choose who your favourite based on all the above, who would you pick?
