The family of Nhyira Marfo Okyere, a member of the popular gospel music group Team Eternity Ghana, has refuted claims that she died from food poisoning. 

Ghanaians were left in shock after news broke out that Nhyira had passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, under unknown circumstances.

This led to widespread rumours that Nhyira was allegedly poisoned, resulting in her death.

In a statement issued by the family head, Eric Agyei Mante, on August 13, 2024, the family expressed distress over the false rumours circulating on social media.

Mr. Mante noted that the cause of death has not yet been determined and called on the public to stop spreading falsehoods and to wait for official communications from the music group and the family.
