On the Late Night Celebrity Show, Diva's Edition with Giovanni Caleb, renowned Ghanaian fashion designer, Mrs. Joyce Ababio was upbeat about the renaissance of the fashion industry after years of being tagged as the trade for the "uneducated."
"It's not everybody who is wired to be a doctor or a lawyer some of us are wired creatively so we need to have alternatives. This has never been in the system so there's a lot of work to be done".
"Fashion has gone crazy. It seems we can do just about anything; it's you, if that's what you want. Fashion and dressing is an individual thing, so what somebody wants is what you are going to offer. Each time you step out the house you're making a fashion statement so it depends on the statement the person wants to make. We fashion designers are there just to help you be the individual that you want to be."
She added: “I believe in dreams and I believe that dreaming is what you need alongside education which should get you to your goal. It's more towards the parents than the children that they shouldn't take the creativity out of the child. If that's what they are interested they should be allowed to purse it.
"It's a multi-billion dollar industry and there's a lot of money in creativity. We just need to tap it and utilize whatever opportunity there is with passion."
