Although the Ghana Music industry has a number of female artistes doing differing genres of music, their art is not really appreciated and their support base is not also solidified like that of the male artiste.
For this reason, the female artistes come and go within a matter of a year or two without having an impact in the male-dominated industry.
Several names can be mentioned including Abrewa Nana, Eno, Adomaa who are talented but because they lack the needed support, their music seem not to be touch the soul of the Ghanaian people.
But one artiste who seeks the welfare of Ghanaian musicians and have stepped on several toes to ensure that musicians are paid their worth is Shatta Wale. In a post, the self-acclaimed Dancehall King has called for support for the females in the game.
To him, it is time for the various female artistes to be given the opportunity to shine and also build a support base that will hold them and support their art so they do not fade out like has been the case.
In a post on Facebook Shatta Wale said: “Lets stand up for our female artiste..its time for the women too…”.
