AN end-of-year get-together has been held for staff of Fiesta Royale Hotel, where some workers were honoured for their resilient performance over the past year. Three employees from awardees of the various months of the year, were adjudged as winners of winners.
Isaac Anyeetey Sowah took the coveted prize as the overall Best Worker of 2010, taking away a deep freezer. He was equally adjudged the best worker for the month of October 2010.
Dickson Cudjoe, who was adjudged the first runner-up, received a double-door refrigerator, while the second runner-up, Kennedy Sebewu was given a single-door refrigerator. . Addressing the staff, Neville Paul, General Manager of the hotel commended the Directors, Management and Staff of the hotel for their foresight, vision, commitment and dedication which were factors that have contributed to the hotel chalking a lot of laurels. He told the workers that all of them were winners and thereby urged those who were not awarded anything not to be discouraged but strife harder to be recognized in due course. He admitted that without the collective efforts of all, the hotel would not have been able to surmount all the challenges that confronted it over the past years of its existence. Mr. Paul, however, urged the staff to redouble their efforts to put the hotel in a pedestal where it can rob shoulders with other world acclaimed hotels, and to give improved services to its numerous clientele. “We can only achieve this when we are more united than ever. Let us therefore see ourselves as one big family fighting for a common cause so that in future we can pride ourselves that we have contributed to making the hotel what it is today”, he emphasized. Mrs. Effie Quansah, Human Resource Manager of the Hotel called for teamwork among the staff and for all to be one another’s keeper. She challenged them to give their best to ensure that clients get value for money so that they can return to their homes with smiles. Speaking later in an interview, the Financial Controller of the Hotel, Mrs. Patience Dzikuno encouraged workers of the hotel not to relent but to work harder to ensure that the hotel achieved yet more laurels. She reminded the staff that no matter how difficult a client becomes, it is the duty of the workers to exhibit professionalism in the discharge of their duties, and for that, they should continue to give their best, stressing that it was based on this that management of the Hotel over the years continue to honour hard working employees. Established on November 5, 2003, Fiesta Royale Hotel which started with a staff of 38 and 38 rooms with the name Cresta Royale Hotel has grown in stature and won awards at the seventh and eighth Ghana Tourism Awards in 2006 and 2008 respectively.
