Popular sex coach and therapist, Ami Shikah, has said masturbation is one of the most efficient and surest ways women can understand their bodies and attain sexual satisfaction.
According to her, a lot of women do not make conscious efforts at understanding their bodies and knowing what and how they can be sexually satisfied.
She explained that the lack of sexual education among most adults has made most couples clueless in the bedroom, a situation she said has destroyed many relationships.
“A lot of us, when we start having sex, don’t know our bodies; we don’t masturbate. It took me being able to give myself an orgasm to be able to have an orgasm with a man.
“So, I always say to people that for women, masturbation is a solid foundation for getting to know your body, and when you get there, you can communicate to your spouse, how to get you there,” she said in an interview on GHOne.
The sex therapist recounted a situation where she had to give her spouse permission to have sexual relations with other women because he didn’t know how to satisfy her in bed.
She said, “There’s a time in the university I wanted to tell my boyfriend that he is free to sleep with other girls and I wouldn’t be bothered because we had sex and I achieved nothing from it, so what was the point?
“Most guys are clueless, and they need to be taught. Most of them learn how to please women from x-rated movies that aren’t real.”
