Entertainment Journalist, Ray Charles Marfo has pleaded with Ghanaians not to hold persistent resentment towards actress Emelia Brobbey for her outburst and arrogant posture displayed during a radio interview.

Ray Charles, who works with Metro 94.1 fm in Kumasi, on his entertainment segment ‘Showbiz Inside Reports’, said actress Emelia Brobbey exposed her weakness as a female and therefore should be pardoned.

It would be recorded that the actress on Sunday 15th May assembled some dignitaries at Golden Tulip Hotel, Kumasi for the “SAVE THE ORPHAN” musical concert where she solicited funds for Cherubs Orphanage in Kumasi.

Several days after organizing her musical concert dubbed ‘Save the Orphans’, news circulated that the actress had not fulfilled the promises she made to the Cherubs Orphanage.

On the 8th of June 2016, news went viral again that the Ghanaian actress and philanthropist Emelia Brobbey with her foundation ‘Emelia Brobbey Charity Foundation’ has honoured her promise of supporting charity homes and orphanages by donating to the Cherubs Orphanage in Apire with a cheque of Gh10, 000.

Confirming the donation during a radio interview on Entertainment Power last Saturday on Nhyira fm, furious Emelia Brobbey lambasted Okukuseku, the programs manager for Nhyira Fm for trying to bring her reputation into disrepute on claims of issuing post dated cheque to the Cherubs Orphanage home.

The actress spoke angrily saying Nhyira fm has an agenda to disgrace her and collapse her Charity foundation.

According to her, she is done with the donation and she did it in a good faith so didn’t expect the bashing or pressure from Nhyira Fm and other radio stations. ‘’I am not obliged to render my financial statement to any media house so this envy must stop’’.

Her utterances invoked the wrath of listeners who called into the show to admonish her bad attitude.

But according to Ray Charles Marfo, Ghanaians should tone down and forgive Emelia Brobbey. Ray Charles said, “There are many things that go into organizing a charity concert event. Planning ahead and staying organized helped Emelia immensely. Let us not forget recruiting bands, artists, and other stuffs for her charity events involved lots of money. Have we considered the amount Golden Tulip charged her? I believe it’s unfair to accuse her of pocketing part of the money she got from her charity concert. She had a point to prove but fell along the way with her utterances. Let’s support and encourage her to raise more funds for her foundation. Yes, she didn’t speak maturely but we should forgive her now that she herself has apologized.”

Emelia Brobbey had a successful concert on Sunday, May 15 2016 at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi to raise funds for Cherubs Orphanage Home at Apire in Kumasi.
