Former Miss Ghana finalist, Betha Owusu to launch fashion reality show and model agency

UK based former model and Miss Ghana 2000 finalist, Bertha Owsus is set to launch an exciting fashion reality TV show and a professional model agency in Ghana. ‘Project Walk Way Ghana’ is a fashion reality TV show that would be aired on Metro TV and GhOne Entertainment TV from January 2012.

The show involves undiscovered talented designers across Ghana competing against each other in a 13 episode show. The designers will be set tasks to accomplish and the results of that task will be judged by Style Icons and established fashion designers in and across Africa. Each week a designer will be eliminated and the ultimate winner will be offered a fantastic opportunity which is yet to be revealed.

The model agency, Impression Model House is about celebrating the unique beauty of Ghana, giving both ladies and gentlemen a platform to express themselves through imagery and fashion. The models that will be casted to model various pieces from the designers in Project Walkway Ghana will also be signed to Impression Model House so the two projects will run concurrently.

Both projects were birthed by Bertha Owusu based on her love of fashion and beauty, and her passion to project Ghana’s fashion industry internationally. Bertha completed a degree in political science and psychology as a combined major at the University of Ghana and after she got married she moved to the UK with her husband. Whilst in the UK she took courses in Beauty Therapy and because of the passion for the fashion and beauty industry, she returned to Ghana to sign up for Miss Ghana 2000, making it into finals.

The buzz from the beauty pageant encouraged Bertha to register with Phase 1 Model Agency and she had the privilege to catwalk for a number of Ghanaian fashion designers including Mawuli Kofi Okudjato, Kofi Ansah, Nora Banamann, Karim, Safo and Ivana-elle Couture. Her exposure to the Ghanaian Fashion and Beauty Industry allowed her to discover the niche in the African Fashion Industry for Project Walkway Ghana and Impression Model House and has spent the last 4 years cultivating its launch.

Currently residing in the UK, she is planning the launch of Project Walkway Ghana and Impression Model House that will take place in Accra on December 26; collaborating with various organisations in the UK, Ghana, and Nigeria.
