Frank Kwabena Owusu, professionally known as Franky 5, has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Creative Arts Agency (CAA).

In his role, the media personality will assist CAA boss Ms. Gyankroma Akufo-Addo.

The announcement was made at the launch of the West Africa Music and Arts Festival, with the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MoTAC), Andrew Egyapa Mercer, and his deputy, Mark Okraku Mantey, in attendance.

Currently serving as the Acting Deputy CEO of the CAA, Franky 5's substantive appointment is pending approval and regularization from the MoTAC lead. However, he states that this does not prevent him from discharging his responsibilities.

He affirmed his unwavering commitment to contributing to the growth and success of the Creative Arts Agency, emphasizing the honor of his appointment.

Operating under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture, the Creative Arts Agency was "established by parliament through the Creative Arts Industry Act 2020 (Act 1048) to provide the necessary institutional framework for the development and management of the arts industry and other related matters," and exists "to support Ghanaians in participating in the arts and developing creative capacities. Through partnerships with organizations within the creative arts industry, we seek to provide a structure that will guarantee the sustainable growth of the industry," according to their official website.

Franky 5, once the Deputy Executive Director of the CAA, resigned around August 2023, citing undisclosed "personal reasons" in an interview with Joy News' Kwame Dadzie in October 2023.
