French Embassy to hold fashion show

Accra, July 8, GNA - The French Embassy in Ghana will on July 14 hold a fashion show as part of activities to climax this year's French National Day.

The event which hosts six designers comes off at the Ambassador's residence with a prize package of a two-week trip to France to observe the work of a top Parisian fashion house and also to be introduced to very competitive world of fashion saloons and fairs.

Mrs. Valerie Lesbros, Cultural Affairs Attach=E9 of the French Embassy, disclosed this to journalists at a press conference in Accra in which, she said, the Embassy was proud to support the fashion industry in the country to promote the talent and creativity of young designers. Mrs. Lesbros said: "By giving upcoming designers a platform to showcase their creativity and artistic talent, we sincerely believe that fashion design is an authentic form of art along with painting, dance or music as a modern way of expressing inspiration which deserves a particular effort to help develop and reach its full potential." Mr. Sima Ibrahim, Chief Executive Officer of Exopa Model Agency, said it was his dream to make Ghana a leading fashion tourism destination in Africa and set the pace in what was fashion on the continent.

He added that Ghanaians could attest to the fact that the contributions of Exopa to the Ghanaian fashion industry over the past two years had lifted the industry to a new level. The upcoming designers include Klekeli, Ben-Genesis, Doreen, Salimi, Atsu2Heads and Tei Huagie.
