The Golden Voice of Africa, Pat Thomas who has been touring most of the European countries for the past two months in an exclusive interview with Nkosuohene last Sunday 24th July, 2016 at Berlin disclosed how much Ghana Music Right Organization (GHAMRO) puts in his account every month.
Speaking on the current state of Ghanaian music industry, he said: “Ghanaian musicians are doing well and I believe what we are experiencing now is a generational change so whatever the young ones are doing now is acceptable. Music is a universal language and if the people have accepted that, we need to be happy.”
“We are protecting our genre high life and there is no way anyone can take that from us,” he further noted. Presently, the young artiste like Bisa K Dei and Kwabena Kwabena are doing very well with the genre and I support them with what they are doing.
He added, though they didn’t get what they were supposed to get from our music during our days, they are alive and will try our best to do what we can to help the generation making it now.
Speaking on issues with GHAMRO and MUSIGA, Pat Thomas said: “Obour is doing his best but the inner side of it should be investigated. Late last year, I had information from the office of GHAMRO that at the end of every month I will be given 100 cedis. Though I am not interested, they put it in my account and I can’t reject it,” he revealed.
