GMB 10 rocks ‘fashion show night’ as contestants exhibit runway skills

Fans, audience, and viewers of Ghana’s number one TV reality show Ghana’s Most Beautiful were left dazzled by the beautiful African display of fashion as the ten contestants showcased their modelling skills in their elegant African designs.

The show started with a musical performance by the ladies who performed songs by Mizz Vee, Irene ft Asem and Stone boy before the ten beautiful ladies took to the runway to exhibit their various African designs.

The evening was designed to see all ten contestants rock African made designs from selected designers who did not disappoint with some very interesting and beautiful wears for different occasions.

The girls represented the culture of various countries which brought a lot of excitement amongst the ecstatic audience at the auditorium.

YABA gorgeously took to the runway For South Africa while a confident AKOS modelled with ease representing Togo. Mali was represented by a Malian looking ALAYA and HIBA represented Nigeria and she made it look very simple. Cote d’ Ivoire had BADU looking all Francophone with a smiling AMA representing Benin with style. NAA represented Cote d’Ivoire while DEME added the East African twist as she modelled for Kenya. EFUA represented Nigeria and was very Nigerian with KAFUI deciding to remain elegantly Ghanaian.

The judges were not left out as they set the pace with nicely done African outfits which I believe was the right move as they gave their thoughts on the various designs worn by the ten contestants. They were frank and didn’t mince words when they had to judge the ladies after every performance which I think has been the trademark of the judges in season 10 of Ghana’s Most Beautiful.

Not to say the previous judges haven’t lived up to expectation but there has definitely been a lot of improvement which should be the case as the years roll on. Season 11 may even attract the likes of English reality television judge Simon Cowell and other celebrated judges. You never know.

Designers make their mark

One thing that was evident was the creativity of the young Ghanaian designers who had beautiful and extraordinary designs right from the casual to the evening wear.

The touch of African may not have been a thought in the minds of Ghanaian designers some 10-15 years back, but Sunday night definitely brought back that real African feeling among everyone present at the World Trade Centre right from the contestants through the judges and the two glamorous hosts.

Africa was truly exhibited and I believe as an African myself, I can only say kudos to the ladies and gentlemen who made it happen. Special shootouts to Afra k, Berth Sante, Quophi Akotuah, Lyrian Collections, Abbi – Creations, Made by Angel, Wendy l’artisane, Milli K Garment, Qwekupa Trends, Petals by Dzidzor. These guys are just full of ideas and Ghana has a lot of talent.

Akos adjudged best model of the evening

Akos won the best model of the week, gathering two awards in two weeks after winning the Most Eloquent Performer last week.

Not forgetting the hosts

Gideon Aryeequaye needs no introduction when it comes to GMB and his ‘over’ experience on stage worth it. He makes the show ‘tick’ with the ever beautiful Emefa who of course knows the terrain, having been a contestant and a winner in 2012.

Sunday evening had a lot of positives to learn from as contestants, designers, judges, hosts and the fans all played a major role to ensure the Fashion Show edition of GMB season 10 lived up to the billing.
