GOtv Ghana has presented twenty GOtv decoders with subscription and other goodies to the members of the Ghana Skate Soccer team at a ceremony at the Multichoice Ghana head office in Abelenkpe, Accra. This gesture is in fulfilment of an earlier promise made to the team before their recent international friendly match with their counterparts from Nigeria.

Speaking at the lunch meeting with the Skate Soccer team and officials, Kingsley Afful, General Manager, GOtv Ghana, said “sports is a powerful way to unite our people. It brings people together around shared passions and connects us to new realities. GOtv Ghana being a video entertainment company, will continue to enrich lives through the right mix of local and international content at the most affordable price.”

As a business born and bred in Africa, GOtv is proud of the contribution it makes to our communities and continues to grow hand-in-hand with the local economy by forging long-term partnerships with government, broadcasters and local entrepreneurs. He announce an opportunity for the members of the team to become resellers of GOtv in their communities to supplement their current income.

Mr. Afful was full of praise for the stellar performance and high sense of discipline the team exhibited during the recent ‘Binatone International Unity Skate Soccer Fiesta’ whilst calling for greater support for the lesser known sports. He urged the team not to allow their physical challenge hamper them from reaching for their personal goals and aspirations.

Skate soccer is a fast paced team sport which blends together soccer, skating and handball. A team consists of 7 players riding modified skateboards; rolling around the 40m x 20m hard surface, trying to score the opposing team over two 45 minute periods.

The match between Ghana and Nigeria played at the Black Star Square two weeks ago ended 3:2 in favour of Ghana. Excerpts from the international friendly were aired on Super Sport’s magazine shows Sport On and Soccer Africa. The full game will be aired at a later date to be announced.
