Guinness World Records contender, Atinga Nsobila Joel, who recently attempted the World Record for the longest barbecue marathon, has debunked rumors that he had not submitted any evidence of his attempt to the organization.

In a post on his Facebook page, Atinga showed a screenshot of an email from Guinness World Records (GWR), confirming the receipt and ongoing assessment of his submitted evidence for the "Longest barbecue marathon" category.

Atinga reassured his fans and followers, advising them to ignore any insinuations regarding incomplete submissions.

"Hello Ghanaians, this shows that myself and my team have successfully submitted evidence to @GWR so kindly disregard any claims that we have not submitted any evidence," he posted.

The email from GWR recognized Atinga's submission and outlined the forthcoming procedures, indicating that a Records Manager would meticulously evaluate his documentation.

Upon successful verification, Atinga anticipates an official confirmation and the issuance of a Record Holder Certificate.

In the event of any additional information requirements or if the attempt falls short of approval criteria, GWR will maintain communication with Atinga through email.

Atinga's comments come at a time when there is public scrutiny over some GWR attempts by some Ghanaians in light of the controversy surrounding Chef Smith's claim to have been granted the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, which was later denied by the organization.

CEO of God’s Time Kebab, Atinga Nsobila Joel, embarked on his attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the longest barbecue marathon by grilling 10,000 sticks of kebab over 90 hours.

The event, which began on April 11, 2024, during Eid-ul-Fitr, and ended on April 14, 2024, aimed to break the current 80-hour record held by Jan Greeff (USA & South Africa).
