The 2019 Reign Concert, which was an album launch for dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale came off successfully on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the Fantasy Dome in the Accra International Trade Fair Center without any hitch.
But to some commentators and social media users, the attendance for this year’s show was quite disappointing as compared to last year’s. Critics have blamed this relatively low attendance to a host of reasons.
But renowned TV personality, Nana Aba Anamoah, has asked these critics to either apply common sense in judging which show got the highest turnout or get a life.
According to the critics, rate for this year’s event is partly to blame for the low turnout. Last year, the tickets for VIPs were pegged at GH¢50 whilst that of regular attendees was GH¢20. But this year, the tickets for regular were sold at GH¢50 and VIP was GH¢100.
Others have blamed the poor publicity strategy used by the Shatta Movement in promoting the event. To them, the Reign album launch in 2018 enjoyed a lot of airtime and hype but very little was done for the Wonder Boy album.
In a post on Twitter, however, Nana Ama Anamoah minced no words in dressing-down such people.
Part of her post read; “Shout out to the loser sitting on Twitter claiming low attendance and other nsemfoo (nonsense). You either need to get a life or start using your brain small.”
She added that “the dome is packed to the rafters. Deal with your bitter fingers and one-cedi bundle.”
And of course, no post from Nana Aba Anamoah goes unnoticed, as there have been backlash from several others but that received no attention from the media personality.
