Ghana Music Video Awards To Be Held Next Year

Ahenti Management, organiser and founder of the first Ghana Music Video Awards for 2004, would soon give an opportunity to the public to nominate the best music videos for awards during the grand finale next year.

The awards, which would take place at the Accra International Conference Centre, is to encourage quality music video production, to make an impact on the film and video sector in the country and enhance the marketing of Ghanaian music video.

A statement issued on Monday said the ceremony would be a high profile annual event to award the best video music and would include best High Life; Hip Life; Gospel; Reggae and Traditional and Cultural Videos.

It would also include most innovative lighting, best location and set, best costume and best acting.

The statement said the music videos would be televised for the public to nominate while the second stage would consist of a panel of judges to review recommended videos and select five in each category for the next stage.

Barima Adu-Asamoa, Chief Executive Officer of Ahenti Management, said there were several factors that could enhance the Ghana Music scene to meet international standards and expressed the hope that the award would induce quality and creative videos.
