Accra, May 11, GNA - Ghana will represent West Africa in this year's National Black Arts Festival (NBAF) to be held from July 16 to 25 this year in Georgia, Atlanta, United States of America.
The annual festival, which is aimed at linking, inspiring and transforming people through artistic presentations will attract audience of all ages from different cultural backgrounds.
Speaking to journalists in Accra, Mr Hugh K Aryee, Chief Executive Officer of Proffworld Link Consults Limited, local organizers of the event said, it was the first time since its inception in 1988 that Ghana was going to participate in the event.
He said Ghana would represent the Sub-Region with about 120 exhibitors and vendors to showcase Africa's monumental contributions to the world of culture.
Exhibitions would include artifacts, traditional food and cultural performances and demonstrations. Other side attractions would be music, visual arts, dance, theatre and films.
This year's event, Mr Aryee said would focus on women and their contributions to culture hence the theme, "Sister Fire: The Creative Expressions of Black Women".
"Besides, the aim of the exhibition is consistent with the goals of the organizers to celebrate the greatness of Africans in the Diaspora," he said.
