UK-based Ghanaian Kumawood actor Nana Boakye Ansah has recounted the ordeal he went through as a result of a spiritual attack during his peak as a Kumawood actor.

In an interview with Poleeno Multimedia on November 20, 2024, Nana Boakye noted that due to hatred in the industry, someone took him to a fetish priest, resulting in his inability to give out his best while on set.

"The movie industry is full of juju, and if you don't fight against someone spiritually, someone would fight against you. Every year, if someone is becoming famous and the person does not seek spiritual protection, it's either he falls sick or dies.

"It got to a point in my career where I couldn't even talk on set. And I get scared when I hear action. So I spoke to my grandmother, and you know those old folks; she performed some spiritual stuff for me before everything became normal," he added.

The actor also noted that Prophet Opambour rained curses on him, which made him migrate to the United Kingdom because it negatively affected his career.

"When I heard that Opambour had cursed us for acting in a movie in his name, I got scared. I remember we went to beg the prophet, and when we got there, he (Opambour) stated that I had said something that got on his nerves. So he didn't listen to us, and I remember calling in on one of his shows to apologize on behalf of everyone.

"This made the entire team angry, stating that I had betrayed them, so they stopped calling me for a role. And because I had a UK visa, I decided to come and stay here since my career was in shambles," he added.

Nana Boakye has acted in several Kumawood movies with popular actors like Jackie Appiah, Kwaku Manu, Agya Koo, and many others.
