Ghanaian Musicians support Akufo-Addo

With only three days to go until the leader of the NPP is chosen, musicians, including the new MUSIGS President, Diana Hopeson, have shown their support for Akufo-Addo asd the new leader. Others include Mac Tonto and Blay Ambolley.

Hi-Life maestro, Amakye Dede has said that Akufo-Addo’s victory is a no contest and that as Bob Marley said “whoever the cap fits must wear it”. He also said that when the cock crows in the morning, he would have already won.

A-Plus has also launched a song in support of Akudo-Addo.

Diana Hopeson said that she had no political affiliation but said that Akufo-Addo has presented himself as someone who is interested in the country’s creativity.

Blay Amobuley also said that we need a President like Akufo-Addo to develop the country.

He added that apart from Kwame Nkrumah, past Governments neglected the music industry. President Kufuor may have started benefiting musicians but Akufo-Addo is needed to complete and develop the work on the industry.

Mac Tonto, who also supports the aspirant, said that Akufo-Addo is a great lover of music and makes it his mission to develop the music industry.

Alhaji Sidiku Baharis also a bog fan of Nana’s and particularly like him for his interest in music.

Diana Hopeson, his successor said that although the Government has done well and imposed a copyright Law, she said that proper legislation is needed to protect musicians’ interests.

A-Plus said that since Atta Mills and Akufo-Addo are the most qualified he would like to see them contest in the leadership contest and would not mind if either of them wins.

Kwabena Kwabena said that he would like to see Nana as President and Pozo Hayes said that since the present Government has done little for musicians, he was excited about Akufo-Addo’s speech and would like him to become President so that he can do the rest.
