Respected Ghanaian musician, Dada Kwakye Duah, widely known as Dada KD, has disclosed that Ghanaian highlife musicians are cursed with spirit of hatred.

According to Dada KD, he does not understand why there is a high level of hatred existing among highlife musicians across the country.

Speaking on Accra-based Hitz FM, the musician lamented that the lack of love for each other within the industry has halted progress in their careers. “They have been cursed because we hate each other.

That is why we are stuck in the middle,” the musician said. Dada KD maintained that though some crops of highlife musicians collaborate to produce songs, it is hardly composed out of love.

“We do collaborate but it’s not out of love. If I want to collaborate with someone I infuse my talent to make it hit. But they feel like you have sang it better than them,” he added.

The respected musician therefore called on veteran highlife singers to collaborate with current crop of musicians who are blessed and well-endowed with the advanced technology in making music. “The moment the top high life singers collaborate with the young guys it will be resurrected. It cannot die.

The young guys will capitalise and make money out of beefs. They don’t care who sang it best, they just want the hit,” Dada KD said.
