Renowned Ghanaian artiste Ayigbe Edem has voiced his concerns about the country's current economic challenges.

According to him, the new leaders must implement significant changes to foster a thriving ecosystem for businesses and young entrepreneurs.

Speaking exclusively to GhanaWeb’s Isaac Dadzie, Edem highlighted that Ghanaians are not asking for handouts but rather for an environment where businesses can flourish.

He called on the government to provide young people access to low-interest loans and ensure a stable currency to facilitate smooth business transactions.

"I don't think people in the country are asking for money. We're asking for ecosystems to thrive, for businesses to thrive, for young people to be able to access loans that don't have high interest, for businesses to be able to do transactions and know that the dollar is going to be stable for maybe six months or a year. So our new leaders should do that for us," Edem stated.

He said this at the 2024 BHIM Fest hosted by Reggae/Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy in Accra on December 22, 2024.

The massive event saw Stonebwoy treat a full house to his best tunes from his years in music as well as bring up top-notch artistes from and beyond Ghana, including Efya, Praye, Edem, Spice from Jamaica, and Davido from Nigeria.
