Self-acclaimed dancehall King, Shatta Wale has revealed that Ghanaians tend to give much attention to senseless music than lyrically rich music.
In his observation, most musicians are gradually drifting into churning out music that does not make sense because it appears to be the order of the day, allowing the ones that should have rather dominated the charts to fade away.
Speaking in an interview with George Quaye on Joy Fm, he revealed that the genres of music of Swedru-based Patapaa is what drives them crazy.
“Patapaa has found out that this industry does not want any good thing, they just want nonsense. Patapaa’s songs are what we want. When you play songs about believing in God or about sanitation people will bash you as though you are the only person with sense”, he revealed on the show monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
According to him, the musician is taking advantage of the fact most music lovers are overly obsessed with senseless and meaningless music to place himself to the top warning is very dangerous to the industry’s growth.
