The recent plight of the Highlife/Hiplife artiste Akoo Nana known in real life as William Ato Ankrah, on the poor nature of MUSIGA studios has generated a heated argument between musician and officials.

According to the officials, MUSIGA was doing its best to satisfy the needs of its members as well as to support their profession.

MUSIGA president Bice, popularly known as ‘Obour’ indicated that, for the betterment of their musicians, the union had been able to acquire a first class modern studio for its members to get better sounds for their music.

He also added that, he being a president ensures that, its members were well catered for in every aspect they needed help.

However the issue which is heatedly debated on indicates that, the ultra-modern equipment brought by Obour were fake and horrible to even record a voice.

It also expressed that, Obour lacks the needed skills to ensure the success of the union thereby bringing division among musicians.

A recent agitation by the hiplife artist, Akoo Nana, indicated that, “the rehearsal studio stinks with a pungent smell and there’s nothing like a window curtain, but they rather used cloth.”

“All the equipment are rusty, they knew Akoo Nana will expose them so they told my ‘PA’ the place is locked whilst it was opened.”

According to the ‘World Cup’ hit singer, he was previously denied access to rehearse in the studio because they knew he could expose how disorganized and rickety the equipments are.

Challenging Akoo Nana, on his claims, Enoch Agyapong, a producer and member of the union, expressed that, the rehearsal studio was situated near the sea thus, affecting the nature of the studio.

“I cannot beat Obour because musicians are saying they can’t rehears their music, which is totally unacceptable.”

“You can’t put everything on MUSIGA, the fact that, is a union does mean you should bring all your responsibility on them.”

“We need to think right, I don’t hate Akoo Nana, neither do I hate any musician, when Obour does wrong I tell him, we need to understand the situation we are now and work towards that.”
