Ghanaian hiplife sensation Kwaw Kese has urged Ghanaians to give the newly elected government a chance to prove itself before taking action.

Speaking exclusively to GhanaWeb’s Isaac Dadzie on December 22, 2024, Kwaw Kese called on Ghanaians to embrace change and work towards improving their lives and society.

He acknowledged the current challenges faced by many, especially due to the economy, and expressed his hope that the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) government’s efforts to “reset Ghana” and improve the economic situation would be successful.

“Let’s give the new government a chance. The change starts with us Ghanaians, so we have to also, in a way, positively amend our lives in a way to benefit society and Ghana. So let’s all change.

“The new government is saying they’re going to reset stuff. We all know things are not easy at the moment for a lot of Ghanaians, but we hope their reset can be done and done well so that it can benefit organs,” he said.

Kwaw Kese, who has been vocal on matters affecting the economy, further emphasised the importance of having a voice for the masses, especially when times are tough.

He called on Ghanaians, especially those with a platform, to not be afraid to speak out and advocate for positive change.

“I’m a youth myself; I feel the heat on the street. I feel the heat of the youth. When things are not going well, we need a mouthpiece that can speak for the masses. And often people are scared to speak. And I think some of us are not scared to speak, and we speak for the masses. So, that’s part of me. When I see the need to speak out, I speak out,” he said.

Kwaw Kese made this known at the 2024 BHIM Fest hosted by Reggae/Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy in Accra.

The massive event saw Stonebwoy treat a full house to his best tunes from his years in music as well as bring up top-notch artistes from and beyond Ghana, including Efya, Praye, Edem, Spice from Jamaica, and Davido from Nigeria.
