Hip-life gem, Asem has disclosed he was paid close to a billion old cedis by telcos giant Glo as he opens up for the first time on his 'ambassadorial' endorsement.
The rapper made the disclosure during an interview on Showbiz Today on Hitz FM hosted by Nat Kwabena Adisi, popularly called Bola Ray.
The revelation did not come easy as the “Bye Bye” spilled the beans after several taunts by Bola Ray.
“It was a lot of money,” he said, forcing Bola to guess, “above GHc 50,000?” to which Asem answered, “Oh yes!”
When the young but admirable talent was asked whether he was paid in dollars or cedis and if it was more than a GHc100,000, he said, “I have to do the math, but I’m not good at that. Emm……, it was close to a billion cedis.”
Asked what he did with all that money, the artiste who recently launched his second album, Solid Ground and currently embarking on a nationwide tour said, “I had to set up an office and a recording studio because of my record label, WBDN records. I bought a house for myself, another for my mother, a car for myself and another for my mother. I’m also using some to run the label.”
Asem chipped in that his Tarkwa show as part of his nationwide tour was a big success and he’ll be storming Sunyani on May 25.
