Ghanaian actress, Gloria Osei Sarfo, is getting recognized for a prestigious accomplishment, which could further enhance her over two-decade career.

Interestingly, the ‘Efiewura’ actress stands tall amongst Africa’s big names in the film category as she remains the only Ghanaian to be shortlisted in the AMVCA 2020 nomination in the acting category with Shirley Frimpong-Manso’s sequel film ‘The Perfect Picture: 10 Years Later’.

Gloria is up against Toni Tones ‘King of Boys’, Eucharia Anunobi ‘The Foreigner’s God’, Tina Mba ‘The Set Up’ and Mary Lazarus ‘Size 12’.

Talking about her latest feat in an interview with 3FM’s Mzgee, the amiable actress indicated that even though she feels so heavy and overwhelmed to be representing Ghana at this year’s Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, she is very optimistic of bringing the award home.

“Honestly, this is so huge, I feel so heavy and very optimistic... my friends are saying I’m the only one representing the country... there is no way Nigeria will honour only their country men, definitely some will go to other countries and since I’m the only one representing Ghana I’m sure I will be bringing the award home," she noted.

Aside Gloria, Irene Dumevi a graduate from the MultiChoice Talent Factory Film Academy and of Ghanaian descent scored an AMVCA mention in the MultiChoice Talent Factory category for her movie ‘Life of Bim’ alongside five other contenders.

Other A-listers that landed multiple nominations include Nigeria’s Toyin Abraham, who amassed two mentions in the best comedy actress movie or tv series for ‘Bling Lagosians’ and ‘Kasanova’ and best actress in a drama movie or tv series ‘Elevator Baby’.

Ramsey Nouah is also up in two different acting categories, best actor in a comedy movie or tv series ‘Merry Men 1’ and best supporting actor in a movie or TV series ‘Living in Bondage’ alongside a best director nod for the latter film.
