Widely known and recognized as the commander in chief for the gospel reggae genre, Akesse Brempong did not have a rozy journey to being a father of two beautiful kids.
The award-winning artiste has revealed that it took him four years after getting married to his wife Benedicta Brempong to give birth.
Speaking exclusively to Ghanaweb's Bernice Owusuwaa on Showbiz Trendz, the 'Roar' hitmaker explained his sorrowful journey to being a father.
Talking about how his popular single 'God is Working' came about, he explained that his wife almost gave up the thought of giving birth.
"We waited four years and prayed for the fruit of the womb, it wasn't forthcoming... My wife was disrupted along the line. I remember one time she asked me; You're the guy going around singing, praying for people?... Do you realize we don't have a child?", she asked.
That short question posed by his wife according to the reggae artiste influenced the lyrics of 'God is Working' single.
Akesse Brempong continued that he and his wife decided not to pray for a child again.
"The Lord asked me not to pray about childbirth again. So I told my wife we are not going to pray about it again...If God doesn't want us to have children, then so be it", he added.
The announcement of his wife's pregnancy was another terrible shock after his wife was attacked by armed robber in Obuasi.
