Ghanaian musician, Ohemaa Mercy has advised leaders of the nation not to accept homosexual activities as eligible in the country despite some activists pushing for it.

According to her, homosexuality is something God hates so much hence, accepting it would spell doom for the nation in all facets of life.

She disclosed that there are people who opened up to her about their struggles with homosexuality and she always advises them to abstain from it by seeking divine intervention.

Speaking in an interview with 3FM which was monitored by GhanaWeb, Ohemaa Mercy stated that the act is a taboo that is being influenced by ungodly spirits to destroy people’s lives.

“For me, where I am standing in the spiritual side, you can't control it. Anytime I meet young ladies and gentlemen that share their problems with me, especially with this, they open up to you. I have a lot of calls. And you could see that the person is not of him or herself. I will never allow that.

“It [homosexuality] is something that God hates. And if you are listening to me and you are going through that, you need the hand of God. You are not of yourself. I will never stand on the fact that they need us to get them close, to help them get out. But the fact that they want us to put it on the bill to accept it will not help this nation. It will actually take off the face of God from Ghana and incur God’s wrath,” she warned.

Meanwhile the Anti-LGBT+ Bill is still pending approval from parliament as the case against it is yet to be heard by the Supreme Court to determine its eligibility status.
