Eddie Ampaw of Culture Management Group Gospel, organisers of the Kingdom World Tour, has underscored the potential of gospel music, stressing that its messages of hope and love can profoundly heal people.
According to him, the decision to organize an event featuring a lineup of gospel musicians was driven by the desire to see people revived through music and experience a renewal of hope.
At a press launch in Accra on August 14, 2024, Ampaw said, “It’s more than just a series of gospel concerts happening around the world. We’ve brought the gospel world tour to Accra to inspire and uplift the community through the power of music.”
He continued, “We believe that gospel music has a unique ability to bring people together, heal, and spread messages of hope and love.”
The event is scheduled for Sunday, August 18, 2024, at ICGC Christ Temple East in Accra.
It will be headlined by Kirk Franklin, an American gospel musician, choir director, and songwriter known for revolutionizing gospel music by blending contemporary sounds with traditional gospel themes; Maverick City, a contemporary gospel music collective based in the U.S., known for its diverse and collaborative approach to worship music; and Dr. Tim Godfrey, a Nigerian gospel singer, producer, music director, and songwriter known for his energetic performances.
Other acts include Luigi Maclean, who has expressed gratitude for the opportunity to perform alongside celebrated gospel artists, emphasizing the event’s role in fostering unity and spiritual growth; Ruth Appiagyei, Kofi Owusu Peprah, Joe Mettle, Team Eternity Ghana, and Nayaw.
