Imagine Ghanaians in Worcester, MA hearing about Gospelfest all over in any news media and then deciding that since it is coming to their end, they would not let it pass them by but come in numbers to see why this event is the most publicized and talked about event ever, the hottest event in 2004 definitely not to be missed.

The city of Worcester patiently received the ?anointing torch? of Gospelfest but what they did not know was that the torch comes with ?dynamite? that would blow up the whole city which would spread across the whole USA and the globe at large.

A historical and Stella performance involving Seth Frimpong, Suzzie & Matt, Yaw Sarpong, Stella Addo, Dwight, Felicity & Judgement Day Pounded and Judgement Day. The audience begged the promoters to come back to Worcester, MA.

Ghanaians in Worcester witnessing the performance at Gospelfest can attest to the fact that they have never seen anything quite like it before in the history of Worcester. They really got more than what they paid for. The performance was quality, choreographed and awesomely delivered.

The show was hosted by the magnificent MC, Dr. D, formerly known by everyone in the entertainment industry as ?Heavy D? of Joy FM. He is currently the most versatile, all-round and well spoken MCs to host an event. He can sing, rap, is poetic and would always ?bring the house down?.

Prophet Seth Frimpong also showed why he is the dancing prophet. Currently the gospel music version of Adjetey Sowah, his popularity now would give Kojo Antwi and Daddy Lumba a run for their money but we would let you know more about his performance as we go along.

The show started with an opening prayer by Pastor Richard Boakye from Nsawam Prayers Group.  Koby, a great guitarist who has an album getting great reviews opened the stage. After his awesome performance, Worcester?s favorite Gospel artist, Stella Addo followed with her hits which included ?Yesu Ye Champion? and ?Empare me?. Her dance moves brought the audience to their feet and to the dancing floor. The hits make her CD worth having a spot in your CD library.

After Ms Addo?s performance, enters a young gospel reggae artist from Domican Republic by the name Dwight who sounds like reggae superstar Sanchez. His lovers-rock? voice praising the almighty would keep you on your feet and you would shout ?Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Lord Have Mercy?. Dwight apparently has a great connection with the Ghanaian community as he goes to the same church as the great Joe Mens, another great Ghanaian instrumentalist formerly of the Kente Reggae band and leader of the Gospelfest band.

Dwight promised to bring his fellow Dominicans to Gospelfest in New York to be part of such a great occasion next time. Felicity Amoah and Judgement Day set the stage on fire with their endless hits and great performance and she truly showed why she is a good singer.

The Gospelfest band is a collaboration of top Ghanaian professional instrumentalists from various walks of life.  The band consists of; Frank Mensah, Keyboardist, formerly of  Salif Keita and Mega star band, Kwaku Small, drummer, formerly of Amaakye Dede?s band, Koby, formerly of Kojo Antwi?s band, Pompo, Lead guitarist, formerly of Mega Star and Ozimzim band, Bernard Quartey formerly of Ozimzim band and back up vocals; Joyce (Nana), Edith and Bridget. They showed true team effort and great collaboration.

Gospel Superstar Songstresses, Suzzie & Matt also exhibited why they are currently the most loved, adored, famous/idolized by millions of Ghanaians all over the world. The audience appreciated the duo?s performance which brought tears to many eyes. They set the emotional trail as usual for the great Nana Yaw Sarpong to pick up where they left off.

Nana Yaw Sarpong is popular not only because of his music but also because he is a great motivational speaker. All his CDs come with motivational messages which attributes to one?s life experience.  He started with his hit song entitled; ?Wasi abotari nti, wobe di nkunim?, literally means because of your patience, you would succeed. His song inspires, encourages and motivates. The crowd could not sink in what they were hearing. A Very powerful and moving moment was what the audience was experiencing.

To continue where Nana Yaw Sarpong left off, the host Dr. D asked the audience ?Do you want the Prophet Seth Frimpong?  The entire audience was on their feet with ?Yes, Mehuri So, Mehuri So?.  Dr. D continued ; Ladies & Gentlemen, Worcester, I present  to you, Prophet Seth Frimpong, the  reception from the audience  was so loud, it could blow up the Centrum Center and its' surroundings.

Prophet Seth Frimpong on stage is the best performance you could get. All the children in the audience wanted to dance with him; his songs brought the audience to the dance floor nonstop dance and nonstop music. He was constantly mobbed by the audience, money was thrown at him, and it was just an occasion the audience did not want to miss. They mimicked his dance styles, he danced with many members of the audience and everybody wanted to have the opportunity of dancing with him.

At times he would stop and inspire the audience with his motivational remarks and then he will continue with the songs and the dance. He gave the audience hits after hits after hits after hits. The audience got more than what they paid for, great songs, great performances and an unforgettable time.

The promoters of Gospelfest, Mr. Kofi Bawuah and Mr. Solomon Krow thanked the audience for their immense support. Worcester proved that they are supportive and participated fully in the historic gospel event to hit the American soil and they were promised another show soon.

Sponsors and many supporters were honoured including the members of the media; Mr. CNN and Ghanaweb, Sankofa Radio and Kennedy Asofa-Adjei of WCCA TV 13 and Mr. & Mrs. Paul Hayfron of Central Market, Worcester, MA.

Now the stage has been set as the city of New York receives the flaming ?anointing? torch at Armenia Hall. More details follow later.
