Ghanaian traditional musician, King Ayisoba has said that he has not received any Government support for his Batakari Festival that has been ongoing for the past 7 years.
He disclosed this information on the Happy FM’s Ayekoo After Drive Show with DJ Advicer.
“Apart from John Mahama, no Government has supported my Batakari Festival initiative. With Panji’s help, we consulted the Government through the ministry responsible for Creatives but we had no response. I put in a lot of money on my own”.
He added however that he received a lot of support from the media and other artistes.
The Batakari festival is an event organized by King Ayisoba to promote ‘Batakari’, a traditional handmade smock from the Upper East Region. This event features other musicians who display diverse performances to support the event.
