Guru hits the studio with Sarkodie; new single out before VGMAs

Virtually five years after staying off any major Ghanaian or international collaboration, Nana Yaw Maradona, popularly known in showbiz circles as Guru is set to give his fans another wonderful treat as he hits the recording studio with BET Award winner Sarkodie.

Although Guru will not give details, www.nydjlive.com can confirm the hiphop single sees both artists play carefully with words and will be released ahead of the 2015 edition of the Ghana Music Awards.

Coming from speculations that the two are not in good talking terms, the new single is expected to be the talk of town.

Guru burst onto the music charts after a feature by Obrafour on “Kasiebor” and has never looked back. He continues to remain one of the most sought after Ghanaian artists at the moment.

With major singles like Pooley, Pooley Swag, Lapaz Toyota, Kpa kpa Kpa Movement, Mpaebo etc Guru has been nominated for the Artist of the year at the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Touching on accusations of song theft, Guru disclosed such accusations were plans by enemies to detract him from his goals but remains unperturbed.

“Why do these accusations come in just when nominations for awards are announced? Can’t you figure out these are planned schemes? Anyway, I’m not paying attention to them neither am I putting my heart into the awards this year. I’m ok with whatever happens.”

Guru has been nominated in the Artist of the Year category at the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
