There’s no greater victory in life than proving your critics wrong. Oh yes, there will be haters, there will be doubters, there will non-believers… but there will be you to prove them wrong.

This is exactly the case with celebrated hiplife/hiphop music dynamo, Guru who after being sidelined in this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMAs) nominations for the Artiste of the year category, has proved that the board of the award scheme were wrong for not nominating him in that category.

The criteria for the ultimate award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA) Artiste of the year states, “Artist of the year is the topmost award at the Ghana music awards; given to the Artiste(s) adjudged by the Academy board and the general public as the artist with the highest audience appeal and popularity.

The multiple hitmaker’s omission from that significant category has left many showbiz enthusiasts in disarray. According to them, considering Guru’s work in the year under review, he deserved to even be crowned the Artiste of the year.

At the just ended Ghana @60 mega concert at Bibiani in the Western Region, Guru, vindicating why the board of the scheme did a lousy job during the categorizations, put on a scintillating performance .

At a point when the cheering went down and the audience were bored, Guru’s appearance on stage with his hit song ‘Samba’ got everyone singing out laud and jumping in excitement . His performance was very refreshing. His connection with the tumultuous crowed was beyond perfect and his command on the microphone was superb. He truly was the best entertainer of the night.

Guru, really thrilled the crowed by performing over 20 of his hit songs namely ,”Keep walking, Pooley Swag, Bonsam Ani, Pooley, Mpaebo, Lapaz Toyota, Azonto boys, Boys Abre, “samba’, Mebe Tia Wo “, among others.

Guru’s electrifying performance on the night left many people asking why he has been sidelined on countless occasions by the organizers of the scheme for not giving him a nomination in the Artiste of the Year category.

Guru earned just three (3) nominations; Hiplife Song of the Year, Hiplife/Hiphop Artist of the Year, and Best Collaboration of the Year.
