The Managing Editor of the Publisher Newspaper and Communications Officer for Zylofon Cash, Halifax Ansah-Addo, has disclosed he is no longer in business with musician Nii Funny, who has been his signee for three years and 9 months.
Halifax Ansah-Addo, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Halifax Entertainment, under which label Nii Funny was a signee, took to social media to break the news.
“Got married in August…then our team held a great music concert in Bukom… then same August is my birthday month, actually today…but I am somewhere in Victoria Island, Lagos, And oh yes, same August Halifax Entertainment part ways with Nii Ardey after 3years and 9 months of career building and management. It is a great month,” he wrote on Facebook.
It is not immediately clear what has caused the ‘break-up’ but days preceding the end of their working relationship saw the artiste manager take to social media to register his unhappiness with the artiste.
He wrote, “Artiste Management in Ghana….one hell of BS!” in reaction to an event flyer that had Nii Funny as the headline artiste. The image of Nii Funny was later taken off the flyer but was made to perform at the event regardless.
The musician has hit songs including Teshie boi, Loan Marriage, Gbogba, Oyeedon and Vuvuzela.
Nii Funny was unearthed by Halifax Entertainment in 2014 when he released his hit single ‘Broken Heart’ which made him popular and one of the most talked about artistes in the country.
