Kumawood actor, Akwasi Boadi popularly known as Akrobeto, has made known his intentions to tackle the influx of single-motherhood by marrying more women in addition to his wife.

Making reference to Isaiah 4:1, which reads ‘In that day seven women will take hold of one man and say, "We will eat our own food and provide our own clothes; only let us be called by your name. Take away our disgrace!", the comic actor suggested that Christian men should consider polygamy as an answer to the prophecy.

According to him, monogamous marriages might pose challenges in the near future, taking into consideration that biblical prophecy.

He based this assertion on the fact on the worldwide statistics which shows that there are more women than men.

“I want to help address the situation. Therefore, the men who are religiously inclined to monogamy and would not want to fulfil the Bible prophecy, I will not sit back and watch my female counterparts suffer. Thus, husbands who would not want to marry extra wives can give them to me, [maybe] to a sum of 20. I will accept it," he declared.

Akrobeto made Biblical references to the likes of Solomon, and Ishmael who were born out of wedlock but increased the world’s population. He charged his fellow men to ensure that they follow in his footsteps in order to fulfil the prophecy.

He made these comments while hosting UTV’s latest show, The Real News, on the backdrop of calls by Laikipia Woman Representative, Catherine Waruguru to her fellow women to consider being second wives instead of being single mothers.

The Kenyan MP argued that being second wives would help alleviate the challenges posed by single parenting in the country.

Her remarks sparked a frenzy on social media, with majority of the people lambasting her for making such sexist comments.
