Henry Abossey To Revive Afrobeat Music In Ghana

Henry Abossey is undoubtedly the father of modern Ghanaian art music and perhaps the most distinguished and internationally known African composer.

Although he isn't well known in Ghana, his works mark the beginning of an era of modern Ghanaian art music. The singer and composer will be attracting more fans to his new single which features Trigmatic titled 'Selfish'. Listen to Selfish by Henry Abossey feat. Trigmatic

Musically, Abossey has refined the Afrobeat sound in Ghana. He seem to have embraced the whole political heritage of Afrobeat. He uses highlife, zouk and salsa in his music.

Also, he writes most of his songs and has broadened the range of influences on Afrobeat. He has to his credit songs such as 'La Mour Sen Va', 'Travel & See', 'Lucky Day' and more. He sings very well in French, English, Ga, Twi and a little bit of Hausa language.

Henry Abossey has recorded albums such as "Goodbye Opete", "Nkashi Tamo Faa”, “Yoo Naa Bu” and “Rosalind Womba”. His songs last over seven minutes and are very radio friendly which appeals to listeners of good music. He mostly spends time at his studio in Accra with his collegues.
