MTN has held a series of activities to thrill the people of Anlo who, over the weekend, celebrated their annual festival, Hogbetsotso.
With LPMs and jingles playing six times daily on radio stations for a week to set the tone, two huge welcome banners, with the inscription “MTN welcomes you to Hogbetsotso Za”, ushered in guest to the festival grounds.
Under the tag, “Culturefest” the activities began on Friday with a 5kilometre health walk, which was heavily patronised, from Jubilee Radio at Vui to Emancipation Beach, Keta.
On arrival at the Emancipation Beach, they were taken through aerobics and fun games including pillow fights, 100m dash, and tug of peace. Medics were on hand to check the blood pressure and weights (BMI) of participants.
Then the MTN data activation team took advantage of the highly patronized walk to kick-start their activation activities.
Two activation centres were stationed at Club 3T at Vui and Anloga Station with 20 data activation ambassadors deployed to assist subscribers in data bundle activation, internet settings and backup for two days. At the end of it all 2,021 activations were done.
To climax it all, two nights of partying came off successfully with MTN Hitmaker Season Two winner Koo Ntakara; first runner up, Cano Z, Stay J; and several other artistes thrilling the packed crowd.
Cano-z, an indigene, was the toast of the crowd and he did not disappoint in anyway. The crowd cheered him on from the beginning of his performance till the end.
“Traditional festivals mean a lot to the people of Ghana. The people also mean a lot to us and that is why we are on board several of the festivals to contribute something useful to the societies,” an MTN events section official said.
