Hollywood Steals Ghanaian Actor

HOLLYWOOD, THE Los Angeles-based US movie industry, has grabbed one of Ghana’s fastest growing actors, Prince David Osei.

Prince, a pretty new face on the screens, has just returned to Ghana after working on a Hollywood movie entitled, ‘The Dead’, put together by Hollywood co-directors Howard J. Ford and Jonathan Ford.

The production is a Zombie movie about an American mercenary, the sole survivor of a plane crash, who has to run the gauntlet across Africa battling with the living dead.

He joins forces with a local military man, desperately searching for his son amongst the chaos and they fight together to survive.

It would soon be premiered across some of the world’s biggest cinemas and Film Festivals in countries such as the United States, UK and Ghana.

Prince David Osei played Sergeant Daniel Dembele, the local military man in search of his missing son, and he told NEWS-ONE he did not anticipate getting to Hollywood.

“I did not take it serious when I was told about the audition for the movie; so I ignored it. A day to the last audition, Ivan Quashiga called me and I even switched off my phone.

But he called again and asked me to go for the audition. I went and five of us were shortlisted. Later I had a call that they trimmed the numbers and I’m in the last three.

Again I had a call and they said we were now two. So they had to vote to pick the best and I seem to have a little urge over the other guy.”

After the production, the movie’s website described Prince David Osei as “one of Africa’s most exciting young actors.

Already a rising star in West Africa, ‘The Dead’ is a great opportunity for the rest of the world to see this incredibly talented actor at work. He delivers a steely and powerful performance.

He brings a surprising sense of vulnerability and determination in the role.”

When NEWS-ONE asked him how he felt, Prince had this to say: “I have some deals set up. Personally I don’t like talking about myself. The fans should just expect that there are more things coming up. I think right now I am one step in Hollywood.”

Ghanaian movie lovers fell in love with Prince after his outstanding performances in movies like ‘Heartz of Men’, ‘Kiss Me If You Can’ and ‘The Supremo.’

Prince’s enviable entry into Hollywood and his encouraging performance there is being regarded as his exit from the Ghana Movie Industry and sailing into greater heights.
