Accra, Aug 8, GNA - The Ga Traditional Council on Wednesday appealed to the people of Gbese to remember the significance of the Homowo festival which comes off on August 11 and to uphold the ancient usage and customs of their revered ancestors. "Let us all create the necessary ambience for a successful celebration," a statement signed by Nii Tetteh Ahinakwa II, Regent of the Gbese Stool, said.
It said in view of the recent development the occasion, under the theme, "Peace, Unity and Reconciliation," would be celebrated on a low-key note.
The statement said citizens should remain law abiding, civil and decorous during and after the festival and called on the security agencies to complement the effort of the people to ensure peace during the celebration. 8 Aug 07
