The Chief Executive Officer of Bouncers with Degree, Augustine Addo, has disclosed why he resigned from his banking job to start a full-time ‘bouncing business’.

According to him, ‘Bouncers with Degree’ was founded when he was a fresh student at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

He explained that during his time at the university, the school used to organise artiste nights and that was when everything started.

There, he saw an opportunity and, along with his friend, decided to become regular bouncers for the artistes.

"Bouncers with a degree started way back in the university when I had joined the school, which is UPSA. On campus, we had something called the Artiste Night. I and a friend were the only machomen on campus at that time so whenever the artist arrived, we escorted him or her on stage. So that is how the whole thing started," he said in an interview with TV3's Giovani Caleb.

He disclosed that while in school, he was juggling his bouncing job with his work at the bank.

Little did he know that an unexpected call would prompt him to resign from his banking job and invest in his side business.

"While I was in school, I was working with the bank. I was in the bank one day and I received a message: 'I need five bouncers; what is my bill.' I mentioned an amount and the guy was like, okay, give me five. At that moment, I compared the amount I was receiving from the bank and the amount I was about to get from the offer so I decided to start something with it. I resigned from the job to start the business. My mother was angry but he is now proud of me," he explained.
