Following a ruling by the Supreme Court to stay a decision by the Speaker of the House of Parliament to declare four parliamentary seats vacant, Ghanaian influencer and media personality Serwaa Amihere has taken to X to share her thoughts on the development.

On October 18, 2024, the Supreme Court issued a stay of execution on Speaker Alban Bagbin's October 17 decision, allowing the affected MPs to continue their duties until a final ruling is made.

Serwaa Amihere, in reaction to the news on her X handle, expressed surprise at the swift action taken by the Supreme Court, posting, “Interesting times.”

She later posted a countdown to the December 7 general elections, stating, “It’s 50 days to Election 2024.”

Additionally, a section of the personalities in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) also expressed by the swift move by which the Supreme Court judges convened to issue a ruling to suspend a decision taken by the Speaker of Parliament. meaning?

Others asserted that the way and manner in which things are panning out in the political space are worrying, adding that the Supreme Court might have to enforce the ruling in Parliament.

Prominent figures in the NDC who reacted to the ruling on X (formerly known as Twitter) include Sammy Gyamfi, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Kwakye Ofosu, Fifi Kwetey, Kwame Agbodza, and others.
