Ghanaian artiste Stonebwoy has shared how his wife, Louisa, was responsible for his decision to return to school.
The Reggae/Dancehall artiste graduated from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) with a master’s degree in Public Administration.
His graduation ceremony, held on July 26, 2024, was a joyous occasion attended by family and friends.
Addressing the audience during a speech at the afterparty, Stonebwoy shared that, despite his remarkable achievements, he was interested in governance and political affairs and had always wanted to pursue further education but never took the initiative.
However, the final decision was made after his wife surprised him with an ID card for school enrolment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Somebody will say, why at this time? You’ve achieved some very enviable and remarkable feats in your career. Why would you want to go back to school? But I can only say that it’s important to have knowledge.
I’m very interested in governance and what goes on at the top level, you know, so I had to try and get that education.
But the secret is that one day when Covid hit …. I came back home one time from somewhere, and then my wife said, ‘Surprise, abi you say you go go school. This be your ID.’ I was like, ‘Huh? Wow.’
This unexpected gesture required him to mentally prepare for the new challenge of going back to school.
“So I had to now take, like, a month to rewire all my veins and my arteries and my organs to understand that guy, you gotta go to school now,” he said.
Stonebwoy’s achievement has been met with commendations from fans, well-wishers, and colleagues in the entertainment industry, including politician Gabby Otchere-Darko and Nana Ama McBrown.
