How to have Spa sessions without needing a great deal of money

Bring the spa to your bathroom with these beautifully scented treats. In a perfect world we'd all make time for a monthly, weekly or daily spa retreat but because budgets won't allow unless you're Jennifer Lopez or Mariah Carey, you'll likely need to find a different way to relax on a regular basis. Luckily, now you can bring the spa to you without breaking the bank.

One of the easiest ways to recreate the feeling of wellness you get at a spa is by having a relaxing bath with aromatic oils. Which type you go for depends entirely on you. Jo Malone has a wide range, featuring everything from traditional rose and orange blossom bath oils to more unusual scents. White Jasmine & Mint has a crisp, clean feel, while others might prefer the peppery Lime Basil & Mandarin. All are enriched with sweet almond, jojoba seed and avocado oils to naturally moisturise your skin.

It's likely you already have some Clarins products in your make-up bag, but did you know they make body oils, too? The Relax Body Treatment Oil is specially formulated to soothe tired skin, which makes it perfect post workout. It contains 100 per cent pure plant extracts, including camomile, basil and geranium. There's also hazelnut oil to lock in moisture.

Lucky enough to find someone willing to give you a massage at home? Make sure they use Aromatherapy Associates' De-Stress Massage & Body Oil. This is particularly good for targeting aches and pains, so use after a long day on your feet or after hitting the gym. Rosemary, ginger and black pepper are warming and get the circulation going, while the lavender scent will really make you feel like you're at a luxury spa.

No time for a bath or massage? Then simply put a scented candle on and take five or ten minutes for yourself. The Sanctuary Spa classic candle is all about creating a safe, relaxed environment for you to completely switch off. The fragrance combines notes of citrus, bergamot and jasmine with a combination of vanilla, patchouli and sandalwood. It's sophisticated and oozes luxury. Why not meditate while it burns in the background? Just make sure you don't doze off with it lit!
